Analytics and SEO settings have moved to domain level

A quick heads-up: your statistics, cookie consent and search engine settings have moved from your navigation environment to your domains.

This is part of a bigger revision of how settings are organised in Maglr. More on that soon.

What moved

The settings that moved are your main language, the cookie consent notification and consent mode, Google Analytics or Tag Manager, standard Maglr statistics, Google Search Console, and indexing for search engines.

Do you need to do anything?

No. We copied your existing settings to each domain, so everything works as before, and your historical statistics haven't changed.

What you can do with it

Until now, all domains in a navigation environment shared these settings. Now each domain has its own setup, which opens up a few options:

  • Track each domain on its own. Connect each domain to its own Google Analytics property or Tag Manager container. This is useful when you use separate domains for different types of publications, such as your magazine on one and your sales materials on another, and want to see how each performs.
  • Choose what gets indexed. Keep an internal or pre-launch domain out of search results while your public domains stay findable.
  • Fit consent to the audience. Use a stricter consent mode on one domain than on another, for example when your domains serve different markets.

Some of you have asked us before about setting up tracking or indexing differently per domain. For those, now is a good time to go through your domains and adjust their settings.

Where to find it

To find them, go to your domains, click "Edit" on the domain you want to change, and scroll down to "Statistics & integration". The help article has all the details.
