In this course, we’re finishing the page build (on desktop) by setting up a form. You’ll learn how to customise its design and make sure responses are handled correctly.
In the ‘add’ panel you can find an ‘Form’ element which you can, like all other elements in Maglr, position anywhere on your canvas. Via the ‘settings’ tab in the ‘element’ panel, you can then further configure the form via the ‘select or edit’ form button.
Clicking this button will take you to a ‘Forms overview’ where you can see all of your Maglr forms. Handy for when you’re using a single form across multiple pages or even projects. Or you can click the ‘New form’ button to create an entirely new one.
When adding a new form to your page in Maglr, it’s possible to embed an existing form from another tool, like Hubspot, Marketo, Pardot or Mailchimp. Very useful for when you’re looking to manage response data through these tools.
Obviously, it’s also possible to build your form from scratch in Maglr. There are many different form elements available with which you can build your form, such as input text fields, dropdown selectors, radio buttons and checkboxes. You can even add a Captcha to make sure your form can only be completed by actual humans.
Every form option has a ‘label’ and ‘name’ for you to configure. The ‘Label’ option is used externally and therefore shown to respondees. The ‘Name’ option is used internally and will only show to you when you receive a response. So if you’re gathering full names, you might want the ‘Label’ to be ‘Full name’, while for the ‘Name’ tag, just ‘Name’ could be clear enough for you.
In the ‘Form settings’ panel you can further configure the styling, but also the handling settings of the form itself. You can send responses to a specific email address (or addresses), or you can send them to a ‘webhook’. This option allows you to connect marketing automation tools, such as Zapier or Make, to retrieve the form response and forward it to any other tool of choice, like your own CRM software. You can even send the data to an Excel-file if you're more of an old skool type of person.
